Your guide to the perfect cornbread

Recall winter nights at grandma’s house and breakfast on the next cozy morning. Mmmm…cornbread. Oh, you say your grandma’s not such a good cook? This is a simple recipe mix, easy to follow, and with a quick and delicious turnout. Have your little helpers with you in the kitchen!

The Little Aussie Bakery Cornbread Mix : Instructions
mix adapted from a Joy of Cooking recipe, Custard-Topped Spoon Bread

Preheat oven to 400º F

Combine in a large bowl:


1 1/2 cups milk of choice

(we like coconut as a dairy free alternative)

eggs  2 large eggs

olive oil1/2 cup light-flavored oil

(we like sunflower oil)

Whisk until thoroughly mixed. Then add entire contents of The Little Aussie Bakery Cornbread Mix. Stir until the entire mixture is smooth and free of lumps. Oooooh! Aaaaah! It is now ready for your greased pan. And the oven! Bake time varies according to your pan election:

8” or 9” round: 20-25 minutes

Voila! Perfect cornbread. Enjoy hot or warm.
