Happy National Pickle Day! Yep, it’s true–there is an entire day dedicated to celebrating the wonder that is the pickle. But I bet you didn’t know just how wonderful pickles are. Obviously, they are ridiculously delicious. But they can also be insanely healthy, if done right! Today, most pickles from the supermarket are pickled in vinegar and while they are a great low-calorie snack, they really don’t have much nutritional value. But traditionally, pickles were naturally fermented, packing them full of healthy probiotics and making it easier for our bodies to absorb the nutrients inside.
