Oh, the oatmeal cookie. A timeless classic. Sadly, we meet a lot of people who believe their days of oatmeal cookies are over because they have been told that oatmeal is not allowed on a gluten free diet. Well, this is only partly true.

Are you confused yet? Let me explain: the reason people are told not to eat oatmeal on a gluten free diet is the high incidence of cross-contamination because a lot of oatmeal is grown and processed in the same place as wheat. BUT you can find certified gluten free oats that are perfectly safe to eat on your gluten free diet! (Unless, of course, you are also sensitive to oats themselves).
