Gluten Free Texan Biscuits Mix Review

Shannon was another of our awesome customers who agreed to be our “guinea pig” and beta-test our gluten free Texan Biscuit mix. This is what she had to say:

The biscuits are very delicious and I love that the mix is so easy with only three ingredients. That is a HUGE plus for this tired mama of two special needs boys. We have an older stove so it may be the stove, but I had a little trouble getting them to be “done”. When the outside looked light golden brown, the inside was still partially raw in spots. I ended up cooking about five minutes longer than it asked to and the insides were very tasty but some were still a tad wet. They are very, very good tasting.  I used Goya Coconut Milk and Earth Balance Vegan Buttery Sticks. I also stirred by hand instead of using my mixer. Would love any tips you might have for what I may do differently to make them perfect.

We’re so glad you enjoyed the mix, Shannon! To ensure that your biscuits get “done,” make sure that the oven is completely pre-heated before putting the pans into it. Also, it might be a good idea to invest in an oven thermometer; especially with old ovens, the temperature reading given on the display may not be entirely accurate. Another thing to keep in mind with this recipe is that you should not line the muffin tins with paper or anything other than a light coating of grease to keep them from sticking. Hopefully these tips will help you make your biscuits more perfect next time! Are you ready to try your hand at gluten free biscuits? Order yours from our website here!
